The other man tries gertting more money from Mr. Parsons with a sob story of how the other man was blinded after he was trying to leave a chemical fire and a man from behind who was much bigger pushed him out of the way. Mr. Parsons interjects by saying he is also blind and in the same fire this man was but the story was changed and it was Mr. Parsons who got pushed away and left to burn. Believe it or not Scott Pilgrim has a lot more product placement then you think. In the movie we see Scott is always wearing a Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt and when he's not wearing that he is wearing a shit that has "Zero" on it, this being another Smashing Pumpkin's reference states they were promoting the new album. In the movie Scott is also wearing his Adidas shoes all the time and his 3rd opponent is wearing a Adidas shirt when Scott goes to battle him. Scott's also known for his love of Coke Zero and his bass the Rickenbacker 4001.

The technique used here is to use Scott as a portal to younger peoples head, because so many younger people can relate to the way he act's and how he is (broke, roommate, in a band, girl of there dreams). There idea is that if people see Scott they'll wanna dress like him and use the bass he's using because it sounds so good in the movie songs. Also Scott has sort of a favourite drink, lots of people want something that's sort of theirs and they will go on the hunt for maybe a special chocolate bar or beverage. I think this works from personal experience because after reading the graphic novel and seeing the movie i kind of wanted to drink some Coke Zero and go kick some evil ex boyfriend butt. I play bass in a band and my personal preference is a Rickenbacker, the movie hasn't made it this way but i think it has helped improve my want for one.

Financial Advertisements

This advertisement as we can see is for a Visa credit card, offering deals so people can sign up for one. The servers pf this product are saying that with this credit card you can buy anything, anytime at any place. When the realityy is that credit card should only be used in emergencies or when you know you can afford the product. This ad doesn't specify what target it has, it is pretty neutral meaning it could be for everyone or shoppers.

This ad is offering 2X reward points if you sing up as a new costumer, also it is offering a free companion card and a extra 100$ when you trade in your Platinum Access card. i don't think this is a good idea because it is giving off the impression that a credit card has money on it when really a credit card is a loan in your hands, you are borrowing other peoples money and at the end of the month you'll have to pay them back. With this though in there head people tend to get into a lot of dept with there credit cards most likely younger people who are ignorant to the subject. I was educated about credit cards a a young age and now that i know the downfalls i don't think i will ever get a credit card and if i do i will not buy anything that i can't afford.
